Monday: All Saints Liturgy. 10:00 am in the church.
The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, which are all those who have attained heaven.
Library at 2:15 pm
Friday: Grandparents Mass - 9:15 am in the church. After Mass grandparents (& families) are welcome to come and take a look through their grandchildren's class/es. This will be followed by a shared morning tea picnic on the school fields and some concert items. Just a little heads-up - Grandparents mass is always a huge affair, so to ensure you get a seat in the Church and not out in the foyer, come early. Parents and Grandparents sit at the back of the church.
The Juniors led the Rosary last Wednesday. I am having issues with the laptop so will be putting the photos up on Monday.
Last Friday the children had fun doing activities on China Day. In the page above titled 'sharing' I have put a power point.

Mathematics
Counting up to 100 is able to be done by most of the children. Please practice this. Counting back from 100 to 0 is something all children need to practice.
I had the opportunity to speak to a Mathematics adviser last week and asked what was necessary knowledge for children going into Year Two. She said for them to know all the ways to make 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. What we call 'basic facts', starting with the addition facts. I will be working on these in class and also will put a basic facts sheet into their home books so you can practice these at home or in the car. If you can find the time to get e.g., 6 objects and get the children to see how many ways they can be put into 2 groups that would help their understanding to start.

Reading
This week I will be testing all the children on their reading levels. This means that I will not be hearing groups every day, so they will come home with the same book over two nights or they will take a book from fluency boxes, that is, books they have read before. Please keep talking about what is happening in the books they read.
