Welcome parents to week 2. This Tuesday as part of our sustainability concept we will be visiting the recycling centre. Your child has brought home a notice. Please send a reply tomorrow if you are able to help by walking or taking a car.
Friday at 9am is Pentecost mass. Vanessa and Charli will be reading prayers. Please practice their prayer each night during the week. At the present time Lucy will be taking gifts of the offering up to the alter.
We are having a 'Move It' programme on a Tuesday for the next 4 weeks. Could your children bring their PE gear each Tuesday.
Religious Education. We are learning about the Holy Spirit. In the page 'Room 9 blog' I have a list of songs about the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If you click 'playlist' you will see a variety of songs. Please play these over the coming weeks talking to your children about how they can show, for example, gentleness.
This week I will be gluing the essential spelling list into their homebook. I will work at hightlighting the words they can spell and ticking the next 5 words to learn. Please practice these during the week and they will be tested each Friday.
Maths we are learniing to add from the largest number. For example 8 + 3. They hold the number 8 in their head and then add on, "9, 10, 11." Please give them a few chances to do this at home during the week adding up to 10 and then to 20.
Reading. Please spend time helping your child to retell the story of one of the readers they bring home.
