Reading logs will be coming home for the holidays as usual and your child will have the opportunity to win a prize. I will be leaving the books from this week and adding in a few familiar texts to their reading bag for the holidays. It is so important that they read each day with you and talk about these books. In that way they will be practicing and making more secure the strategies and words they have been learning. They can forget a lot in two weeks at this age so it would be great to start the reading groups next term at or close to the reading levels they are now on.
Counting forwards and backwards between a range of numbers, what comes next?reading numbers, working with joining and separating numbers in everyday life also helps them retain knowledge.
