Tuesday: Library at 11:00am. Parent interviews starting at 3:00pm.
Thursday: Parent interviews.
Friday: The mass for Mary of the Cross will be celebrated on Friday instead of Wednesday. You are welcome to share this mass with us. Would be lovely to see you there.
One of the main learning tools for writing will be blending sounds in words, for example, "seat" - s/ea/t. We will also be looking at how many syllables we can hear in words. Syllables are the beats in words, for example in the word 'hamburger ' there are three syllables - ham/burg/er. These skills will carry over to reading.
I have put a Youtube clip at the bottom of this page to show examples of putting sounds together quickly. This is very important to help the children maintain meaning of sentences when they read.
Thank you to all the parents who are getting their children to retell the story of the reader coming home. It is clearly showing results when I come to assess the children's retelling skills.
