Their Religious Education books were sent home Friday. There is a parent comment page at the end of activities. Please talk to your child about what is in their book and make a positive comment to show that this aspect of being at Saint Mary's is important.
There will be books in their reading bag at the end of the week. Please keep your child reading over the holidays. Re-reading familiar books is of real value. These easy familiar books help them maintain fluency and practice important strategies. You can also spend time enjoying and retelling the story.
Any letter-sounds they need to work on, or words they need to read over the holidays will be in the front of their home books. The newer children in particular- Ranidu, Kayden, Annie, Kema-Carina, Ashleigh, Yuri, Ahana, Tinesa need to go over any letter names, sounds or words in the front of their home books. Please go over these for a little while each day. It's very important as it will help to keep progress moving forwards rather than back with a 2 week break.
Any opportunities you have to count forwards or backwards, read numbers or see numbers working in everyday life will also help your child.
